Traumatic Brain Injury Diagnostic & Treatment Services
Ohio Pain & Rehabilitation offers a noninvasive Traumatic Brain Injury diagnostics tool and treatment plan for patients who have experienced injuries such as a motor vehicle accident, sports injury, or work injury. Traumatic Brain Injury is a disruption in the normal function of the brain that can be caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head. Patients may experience immediate or delayed symptoms that can include confusion, blurry vision, or difficulty concentrating. Our doctors provide patients with an extensive range of customized medical and physical therapy treatments that coincides with their Traumatic Brain Injury needs.
Traumatic Brain Injury Testing
We use a test called Videonystagmography (VNG) that measures an involuntary eye movement called Nystagmus. The eye movements can be slow or fast, steady or jerky, moving from side to side, up and down, or both. To track your eye movements, we use the brain injury test which takes about 28 minutes and consists of a cognitive check, ocular test, and balance test. We put a set of goggles over your eyes that locks onto your pupils to give us exact data on your eye movements. Videonystagmography can assist with finding conclusive evidence for Traumatic Brain Injury cases; it can also detect brain lesions, balance disorders, cognitive dysfunctions, vestibular dysfunction, and vertigo. The testing is quick, non-invasive, and painless for the patient.
Advanced MRI Trauma Protocol
At Ohio Pain & Rehabilitation, we use a 3T MRI with trauma protocol to identify micro hemorrhaging and axonal damage. We also administer neuro psychological evaluations and neurological evaluations.
